Friendly Neighbours
Friendly Neighbours is a modular card-game with a focus on emergent gameplay. the game is about creating, combining and setting traps in order to deal damage to your opponents. The original idea took much of its inspiration from the comic “Spy vs. Spy”
My main roles for the game was creating the rules and mechanics as well as Q&A assistance and card designer. I also created the rulebook. The development of this game was reliant on modularity and good cohesion of rules and mechanics. As such the entire team helped with every aspect of the game to provide constant up-to-date information to everyone.

Takeaways
Friendly Neighbours was a fantastic development experience. Production showed me how useful documentation and proper data showcase can be. the reason the game was successful was a direct result of iterative design and countless playtest and analysis sessions. If I was to continue work or restart the project, I would likely prioritize making edits to all of the documentation to improve legibility and understanding of how the game works. as well as, finish creating art and flavour text for every card.
